Crossing Guard, 62, Killed in Crash at Los Angeles and Socrates Avenues
SIMI VALLEY (December 18, 2018) – A crossing guard was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Los Angeles and Socrates avenues Tuesday afternoon, according to Ventura County Star and KVTA.
The accident took place at around 2 p.m.
As per the reports, police said a 62-year-old Simi Valley woman was standing on the northwest corner of the intersection of Los Angeles and Socrates avenues when she was struck by a blue 2013 Chevrolet Cruze.
The car which hit the crossing guard was involved in an initial crash which involved a green Kia Soul and a gray Chevrolet Malibu.

Simi Valley Acorn wrote that the victim was covering the shift for another crossing guard. She was supposed to help Arroyo Elementary students cross the street at the time.
Police affirmed that the woman was rushed by ground ambulance to a local hospital where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, all of the drivers involved stopped after the incident. The cause of the tragic collision remains under investigation.
