Bicyclist Injured in Simi Valley Hit-and-Run at Santa Susana Pass and Katherine
SIMI VALLEY, CA (June 8, 2021) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Santa Susana Pass and Katherine roads in Simi Valley.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the incident at around 10:55 a.m.
According to their dispatch team, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Simi Valley. The driver hit the cyclist at the intersection of Santa Susana Pass and Katherine roads.
Bicycle Rider Hit by Vehicle Near Park
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Santa Susana Park & Railroad. They then found the victim who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded rider and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the area. Officers closed the intersection of Santa Susana Pass and Katherine following the collision.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The Simi Valley hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
