Sitani Pinomi Faces Murder, DUI Charges for Fatal Orange Pedestrian AccidentORANGE, Calif. (May 20, 2021) — Sitani Pinomi, 39, was arrested on murder charges Wednesday night after he allegedly struck and killed a teenage boy at North Tustin Street and East Heim Avenue in Orange.

Aden Uriostegui, 19, of Orange, died in in the collision about 10:09 p.m. on May 20th. If you would like to help the victim’s family with funeral expenses, please visit their Go Fund Me Page.

The young man was walking home from work at the time of the crash, according to the Orange Police Department.

Sitani Pinomi was driving a white 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck southbound prior to the collision. Witnesses told authorities he allegedly ran through a red traffic light before he hit the victim.

Next, the driver pulled over and exited his vehicle. Witnesses told police he walked up to the dying teen and shook him saying “wake up,” according to County News TV.

Driver Faces Murder, DUI Charges

Orange police responded and conducted field sobriety tests on the driver.

Shortly thereafter, police arrested Pinomi for DUI and driving on a suspended license. Additionally, due to a prior conviction of DUI, “Pinomi was booked at Orange County Jail for murder,” Orange Police said. The driver’s occupation is listed as a construction worker. Also, the pickup truck belongs to Pacific Concrete. No bail amount has been set at this time, however, he is scheduled to appear in Central Jail Court on May 21st, according to booking records.

UPDATE: Sitani Pinomi will next appear in court on June 9th.

Pinomi was previously arrested on January 24th, 2020 in Salt Lake City. He was stopped while riding a bicycle. Police report he was uncooperative during the encounter/ Also, he was cited for using or having drug paraphernalia, interfering with an arresting office and failing to stop after being commanded by police.
