Skateboarder Cameron Loren, 25, Killed in Long Beach Hit-and-Run on Voltaire Street
OCEAN BEACH (July 2, 2020) – A skateboarder was killed after an alleged hit-and-run collision along Voltaire Street early last month, on June 4.
According to reports by San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego, police identified the deceased victim as 25-year-old Cameron Robert Loren.
Officers said the incident happened when Loren was riding a skateboard down the middle of Voltaire Street near Guizot and Soto streets.
For an unknown reason, a vehicle traveling west on Voltaire west came around a curve and struck the victim from behind. The accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m.

Paramedics responded and found the man left lying in the middle of the roadway as a result of the crash. They ultimately pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and then took off the area. The tragic collision remains under investigation.
Authorities later described the suspect car as a light colored sedan with apparent damage to its windshield and near its roof.
