OCEAN BEACH, Calif. (October 5, 2021) –  A 27-year-old skateboarder was hurt in an Ocean Beach car accident Tuesday morning at Nimitz and West Point Loma boulevards.

Also, the 7:45 a.m. crash on Oct. 5th in San Diego County left a skateboarder with serious injuries, according to the Times of San Diego.

The collision happened as the skateboard headed west on West Point Loma Boulevard. As he reached Nimitz Boulevard he allegedly rode through the red light. An oncoming Subaru struck the skateboard rider, according to the San Diego Police Department. The unidentified man hit the windshield of the vehicle driven by a 63-year-old man.

Paramedics responded and rushed the seriously injured man by ambulance to U.C. San Diego Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, police closed down the roadway for the Ocean Beach skateboarder accident investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers extend to the injured man in hopes of a full recovery.
