Man Riding Skateboard Struck by Vehicle on Esplanade
CHICO, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2025) – A skateboarder died in a Chico car accident early Thursday morning on the Esplanade near Mission Ranch Boulevard.
The traffic accident occurred just after 2 a.m. on Jan. 9th, 2025, according to Action News Now.
The young man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was riding on the skateboard when he was hit by a vehicle and killed.
The 21-year-old Chico woman driving the vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities and the investigation.
Detectives working on the case closed down Esplanade for about four hours.
By 6 a.m., the southbound lanes reopened and the northbound lane reopened around 7:30 a.m.
