Survivors of Drunk Driving Crashes, Families and Friends of Victims Raise $83K

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2019) — Roughly 430 people donated and or attended the SoCal Walk Like MADD fundraiser Saturday at Rosie’s Dog Beach and together raised roughly $83,000 for Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
The annual fundraising event supports survivors and victims of drunk driving here in Los Angeles County and Orange County.
The top fundraising team this year was Team Noah whose members raised $39,110. The top fundraiser was Marc Benardout who rasied $7,879 for MADD. His son, Noah Benardout, 24, of Sherman Oaks, was he was here today. Noah was struck and killed on Melrose Avenue in the Fairfax District back on August 1st, 2019. The young man was standing on the sidewalk about to cross the road when a drunk driver sped through the busy intersection and struck a vehicle that spun around and hit Noah.
Babes Against Drunk Driving raised $3,283, Due North $1,606 and Team VIP $1,577.
