SOMIS, Ventura County (March 6, 2017) – One was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon on Highway 118, also known as West Los Angeles Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP said a small Lexus sedan, a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup and possibly a semi-truck collided shortly after 4:30 p.m. The accident took place on eastbound Highway 118, just east of Mesa School Road.
As per the report log, Ventura County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and transported one person to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
The force of the crash, which was initially logged as a major, caused the pickup to continue off the roadway and to overturn onto its roof. The Lexus meanwhile sustained major rear-end damage upon impact.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
