2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 118
Somis, CA (June 4, 2023) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 118, also known as Los Angeles Avenue, the KVTA News reported.
On May 30, Tuesday, two vehicles crashed into each other on SR-118 just east of “S Curves” or “Mesa Curves”. Shortly after 8:15 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location and found a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup and a 2008 Honda Odyssey disabled in the roadway.
Investigators later determined the Dodge Ram pickup was heading west on the highway. For an unknown reason, the Dodge driver veered into the eastbound side and drove into the path of an eastbound Honda Odyssey. The two vehicles collided and caused the pickup to roll over several times.
Major Car Accident in Somis
When medical personnel arrived at the location, they found the two drivers suffering in injuries. Paramedics transported the pickup driver, a 53-year-old Santa Paula resident; and the minivan driver, an 81-year-old Moorpark resident, to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.
Several factors surrounding the crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the car accident that happened on Highway 118 in Somis.
