Song Srun, 91, Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 16, 2022) – Son Srun, 91, of Long Beach, died after being struck by a motorist who was backing out of a residential driveway in the 1600 block of East Plymouth Street in Long Beach.
The collision occurred about 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to a Long Beach hospital where he later died, police said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified the victim as Song Srun.
Police officers say a female adult driver “was backing out of her driveway when she struck the pedestrian who was walking across her driveway as she was backing out.”
The motorist stopped following the collision. The driver cooperated with the investigation at the scene, police said.
Police say they do not suspect speed, distracted driving or impairment were factors in the collision.
