Driver Killed in 10 Freeway Crash in Cabazon
CABAZON, Calif. (Dec. 18, 2018) — Sonia Hernandez, 53, of Banning, died in a collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway at Railroad Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported about 10:30 a.m. Police were alerted that a car had rolled off the I-10 Freeway and landed on Railroad Road.
Hernandez was driving the vehicle eastbound on the Interstate 10 Freeway when she attempted to pass a big rig truck, but clipped the front of the truck. The impact caused her to lose control of her vehicle and it veered off the freeway and down an embankment before it landed near Railroad Road.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
