Semi-Truck Carrying Vegetables Rear-Ends Vehicle
SONOMA (August 1, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, an injurious rear-end collision involving a semi-truck was reported just before noon today at Lakeville Highway and Sears Point Road also known as Highway 37.
Authorities were notified of the accident which transpired at 11:53 after a semi-truck carrying vegetables struck the back of an SUV. Another vehicle may have also been involved, however, that detail cannot be confirmed at this time.
Meanwhile, the big rig overturned onto its side causing the load of vegetables it had been hauling to spill across the road.
At Least 1 Person Injured and Hospitalized
The driver of the SUV and possibly another motorist involved sustained injuries which were described as moderate as paramedics were prompted to attend the scene and offer medical aid. At least one of those parties was eventually transported to a hospital.
CHP officials did not indicate whether or not the big rig driver was hurt.
A street sweeper, as well as several tow-trucks, were dispatched to the scene also to assist in clearing debris and removing the vehicles from off the roadway.
