1 Killed in Sonoma County Crash on Highway 37 Near Sears Point
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (June 9, 2021) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 37, known as Sears Point Road, in Sonoma County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7 p.m.
The report log said multiple vehicles collided for an unknown reason near Sears Point in Sonoma County. They crashed on eastbound Highway 37, just west of Fresh Air Bridge.
Multiple Vehicles Collide on Sears Point Road
CHP described the vehicles as a BMW motorcycle, a Hyundai sedan and a Chevrolet Express van. Both the van and the sedan went 30 feet off the road due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased individual has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officials did not mention if any other party ended up hurt after the incident.
CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 37 to shut down following the crash. The cause of the fatal crash near Sears Point is still under investigation.
