Semi-Truck, SUV Collide at Sonoma Intersection
SONOMA, Calif. (April 11, 2022) — A Sonoma crash on Highway 37 also known as Sears Point Road happened early Monday morning between a semi-truck and an SUV.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of SR-37 about 2:26 a.m. on April 11th near Lakeville Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Porsche SUV reportedly crashed into the side of the semi-truck’s refrigerated trailer at the Sonoma intersection, police said. The truck driver told authorities she had just cleared the intersection when the SUV hit the right side and caught on fire. The SUV became fully engulfed in flames following the crash, the report said.
Paramedics responded and transported at least one person to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities diverted westbound traffic off SR-37 onto Lakeville Highway. Also, the crash caused roughly 50 feet of damage to the guardrail in the center divider that needs emergency repairs.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Sonoma crash.
