Heavy Fog Plays Role in Early Morning Wreck
SONOMA (August 8, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2-3 vehicle collision was reported this morning on southbound Lakeville Highway near Highway 37.
CHP officials arrived at the scene of the crash which transpired at 7:12 a.m. precisely between an alleged Lexus, a Toyota pickup truck, and possibly a big rig.
Party Unconscious Prior to Arrival of Emergency Personnel
Upon entering the scene, authorities confirmed that one motorist had been knocked unconscious but a short while later regained consciousness but was in poor condition and transported to a local area hospital.
Another driver complained of pain, however, it was unclear whether or not they were transported to a medical center for treatment or just treated on scene.
While details in regards to the cause of the collision remain ambiguous, it is believed that heavy fogs were likely the catalyst to the crash.
Traffic delays ensued for at least 90 minutes as several tow-trucks were required to remove the vehicles from off the road.
No further information has been provided at this time.

A forensic examination of both vehicles, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle, and whether or not one of the drivers did not yield to the right of way motorist. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, victims involved in an accident and not found liable are entitled to personal injury lawsuit against the driver pending the results of the investigation. Injured victims may seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills and pain and suffering.
