Sophie Edwards and Ethan Manzano Fatal Victims in Car Accident on Angeles Crest Highway
Wrightwood, CA (July 6, 2021) – Two teenagers, Sophie Edwards and Ethan Manzano, died following a car crash that occurred on Angeles Crest Highway near mile marker 72.
The Victor Valley News Group reported the young couple were traveling in an area known as Vincent Gap. For an unknown reason, the 2007 Isuzu Ascender crashed down the ravine east of the community of Wrightwood.
On July 6, at approximately 3:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to the site and found the vehicle about 600-800 feet over the side. Rescue crews made their way to the vehicle and recovered the bodies of the 19-year-olds.
Paramedics pronounced both Sophie Edwards and Ethan Manzano dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed the young couple was reported missing after they were last seen around 1:30 pm, on Thursday along mile marker 51 in the Angeles National Forest.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
