Deceased Victims ID’d as Lester Larios, 55, and Angie Ruiz, 15
SOUTH GATE, California (March 26, 2016) – Two were killed and five others were injured in a hit-and-run crash at Garfield Avenue and El Paseo Street on Saturday afternoon, according The Los Angeles Times.
Los Angeles County Fire Department said the accident took place shortly before 4:30 p.m. when a white car turning into the Town Center Plaza shopping mall was hit by a beige Mercedes-Benz that was going at a high rate of speed. One of the drivers involved fled the area.
An article by KTLA reported that two victims died at the scene. They were identified as Lester Larios, 55, and Angie Ruiz, 15.
Five others were hospitalized. Three people were listed in critical condition while two survived with minor injuries.
As per KTLA, police said the hit-and-run suspect, 22-year-old Bryan Rojas, was arrested and taken into custody.
