Man Struck by Semi Truck on I-710 Freeway in South Gate
SOUTH GATE, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2021) — A South Gate pedestrian accident happened Thursday on the Interstate 710 Freeway at Firestone Boulevard.
The traffic accident happened about 9:09 a.m. on Nov. 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
An adult male pedestrian reportedly in his mid-30s was seen running across traffic lanes from the shoulder to the center divider, the CHP reported.
He was scene on the southbound side of the I-710 Freeway before being struck by a semi truck in the No. 4 lane of the freeway. It’s unknown why the man was on the freeway at this time.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help the injured man, but there are no further details. Authorities closed down the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway due to the crash.
Investigators will determine liability for the South Gate pedestrian accident.
