Torrance English Teacher Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges
TORRANCE, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2018) – Kevin McElwee of San Pedro , a 49-year-old high school English teacher, was arrested Monday at South High School on suspicion of sexually assaulting a former student.
The student was a minor in 2012 when the alleged assault took place.
Following up on a tip from the public, detectives arrested McElwee at the school about 1:30 p.m. at 4801 Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance.
A full investigation into the allegations is underway. Police believe there could be other possible victims and are hoping anyone with information about this will come forward.
