2 Scooter Riders Injured in South Lake Tahoe Crash at Park and Manzanita Avenues
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (October 25, 2022) – Two scooter riders were hospitalized after a DUI crash at Park Avenue and Manzanita Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.
According to an article published by the Tahoe Daily Tribune, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 1 a.m.
The incident happened on October 23 when a vehicle struck two people riding electric scooters in South Lake Tahoe. Police said the car hit them at the intersection of Park and Manzanita avenues.
Drunk Driver Hits Victims
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found both riders who sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police determined that the woman driving the car was under the influence of alcohol when she hit the riders. They soon arrested her for felony DUI causing bodily injury.
Officers forced the area of Park and Manzanita avenues to shut down following the wreck. The South Lake Tahoe crash is still under investigation.
