4 Injured in South Los Angeles Ice Cream Truck Crash on Normandie Avenue
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (February 18, 2021) – Several were injured after an ice cream truck crash along Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles.
The incident began when a black Infiniti was traveling at a high rate of speed on Normandie Avenue. At the same time, an ice cream truck was going west through the intersection with 65th Street.
Police said the driver of the car then slammed into the commercial vehicle. The truck rolled onto its side while the Infiniti caught fire upon impact.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. The speeding motorist, another occupant of the car and a passenger of the truck suffered fractured legs as a result of the collision.
The operator of the ice cream truck complained of pain following the wreck. Medical personnel provided treatment to the patients at the crash site.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, officers forced the road to shut down following the fiery collision.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
