
1 Killed, 4 Injured in South Sacramento Crash at Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (March 18, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured several others at Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road in South Sacramento.
According to The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the wreck on March 18 at around 3:36 a.m.
The incident happened when a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe was going west on Florin Road, approaching Stockton Boulevard in South Sacramento.
At the same time, a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling along Fawn Lane. For an unknown reason, the Nissan tried to enter a parking lot and failed to yield to the right of way of the Hyundai.
2 Cars Collide
The Pathfinder then went into the path of the Santa Fe and slammed into it. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the driver of the Nissan dead at the scene.
A total of four people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a trauma center with varying degrees of injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol believed that alcohol played a role in the incident.
CHP forced the area of Stockton and Florin to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal South Sacramento crash is still under investigation.
