Pedestrian Killed in South Sacramento Crash Near Stockton Boulevard and Lawrence Drive
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (June 23, 2021) – A crash killed a pedestrian near Stockton Boulevard and Lawrence Drive in South Sacramento.
According to the FOX 40 News and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the incident shortly after 3:30 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in South Sacramento. The driver hit the person near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Lawrence Drive.
Victim Hit by Vehicle in South Sacramento
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to the hospital, where they died. The name of the deceased person has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver suffered unspecified injuries after hitting the victim. Officials forced the area of Stockton Boulevard to close from 21st Avenue to Fruitridge Road following the crash.
The cause of the fatal South Sacramento pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
