Hit-and-run Driver Fleeing Crash Hits Parked Car, Overturns
SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (August 8, 2018) — A driver in an SUV was hurt after fleeing a hit-and-run collision Wednesday morning at the Kenwood Drive off-ramp from the eastbound state Route 94, according to a report by the San Diego Union Tribune.
The collision took place about 12:05 a.m. this morning. The driver in the Ford Explorer SUV collided with a Nissan Altima at the off-ramp and then took off. After they fled the collision, the SUV driver crashed into a parked car and a fire hydrant before overturning themselves.
Paramedics responded and transported the two drivers to separate hospitals. The Nissan’s driver was taken to Grossmont Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The SUV’s driver was taken by ambulance to Scripps Mercy Hospital also with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation by police. It’s unknown at this time whether or not the SUV driver was DUI.

At this time, it appears that the hit-and-run suspect is responsible for this collision. It’s unknown yet whether or not the driver will face DUI charges as well.
