SPRING VALLEY, San Diego County (March 30, 2017) – A child was severely injured after being struck on Central Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to NBC San Diego.
The accident took place around 3 p.m. near Troy Street.
As per the article, fire department officials reported that a 3-year-old boy crossed the driveway of another neighbor’s home on Central Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle. He was then transported to Rady Children’s Hospital with a concussion and severe injuries to his foot.
The driver allegedly failed to notice the toddler in the driveway and ran him over.
Meanwhile, a neighbor claimed the mother of the 3-year-old was sitting on her front porch when the collision occurred. The mother, Cesilee Hoss, said her son, named Izaak, has autism and is very active.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
