1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Spring Valley Crash on Jamacha Boulevard
SPRING VALLEY, CA (August 31, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and seriously injured another on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident occurred on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck on August 30 at about 9:30 p.m.
The incident began when a 2010 Nissan Versa was going west on Jamacha Boulevard in the La Presa community of Spring Valley. At the same time, a 2018 Toyota Corolla was traveling east.
For an unknown reason, the Nissan swerved into the eastbound side and slammed head-on into the Toyota. The two collided east of San Diego Street.
Multiple Vehicles Collide in La Presa
The driver of the Versa ended up thrown from the car upon impact. The California Highway Patrol said the 53-year-old man died at the scene.
Both the Nissan and the Corolla spun out of control in the process. The Toyota soon struck a 1994 Honda Accord parked in front of a house on Jamacha near Omega Street.
The motorist in the Toyota sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed the 62-year-old San Diego man to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced a portion of Jamacha Boulevard to shut down for four hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Spring Valley crash is still under investigation.
