Woman Killed in Long Beach Hit-And-Run Identified
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 21, 2020) – Stacey Finley, 42, who is believed to be homeless, died Wednesday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Woodruff Avenue and Willow Street in Long Beach.
The woman was identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Police are seeking to locate the suspect who fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.
Finley was hit by the motorist about t 1:40 a.m. at the Long Beach intersection. Paramedics responded to help her, but unfortunately due to major injuries she died at the scene, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police stated that the pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes of Woodruff Avenue prior to the collision. The driver reportedly struck her from behind as they traveled in the same direction.
Police have not yet released a description of the vehicle or the motorist. Witnesses are urged to call 562-570-7355, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
