Stacey Paz Killed in Crash at Carmel Valley Road and Rio Road
CARMEL VALLEY, CA (May 15, 2021) – Stacey Paz was killed after a crash at Carmel Valley Road and Rio Road in Carmel Valley.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Northridge woman as the victim of the fatal pedestrian accident which occurred on Friday night.
The incident began when Stacey Paz and a man became involved in a non-injury collision on Carmel Valley Road at the intersection with Rio Road.
CHP said both occupants exited their car and stood in the roadway. At the same time, a vehicle was going east on Carmel Valley Road.
Pedestrians Hit by Car in Carmel Valley
The driver approached and then collided with the rear of the stopped car. The impact forced the rear-ended vehicle into Stacey Paz and the man.
Paz ended up pinned underneath her car. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Medical personnel rushed the man to the Natividad Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. KION News wrote that the collision took place on May 14 at about 9:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, officers forced the roadway to shut down following the collision. CHP described the condition of the tragic crash as cold, cloudy and wet. The investigation is ongoing.
