1 Killed, 2 Injured in Stanislaus County Head-On Crash on Highway 132
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 3, 2021) – A head-on crash killed one person and injured two others on Highway 132 in Stanislaus County.
According to The Modesto Bee and Central Valley TV, the tragic accident occurred on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9:30 p.m., just east of Empire.
The incident happened on July 2 when an SUV was going west on Highway 132, just west of Albers Road, in Stanislaus County. At the same time, two people were riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east.
The California Highway Patrol said the SUV tried to pass slower traffic and entered the eastbound lane. In the process, the vehicle struck the motorcycle head-on.
Car Crashes Head-On Into Motorcycle
Both riders ended up ejected from the bike upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the motorcycle operator, a 50-year-old Waterford man, dead at the scene.
Medical personnel rushed his passenger, a 45-year-old Waterford woman, to the Memorial Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the woman driving the GMC sustained minor wounds and sought her own aid. Officers forced the eastbound lanes of Highway 132 near Albers to shut down following the crash.
The cause of the fatal Stanislaus County collision is still under investigation.
