Motorcyclist Killed in Stanton Crash at Beach Boulevard and Starr Street
STANTON, CA (June 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed after a DUI crash at Beach Boulevard and Starr Street in Stanton.
According to an article published by The Orange County Register, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9:30 p.m.
The incident happened on June 21 when a woman was riding a motorcycle north on Beach Boulevard, approaching Starr Street, in Stanton. She was traveling in the second lane from the left.
A pickup truck then made a U-turn on southbound Beach Boulevard at Starr Street. In the process, the car collided with the motorcyclist in the intersection.
DUI Driver Hits Motorcyclist
The rider ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then rushed her to a hospital, where she died.
Meanwhile, deputies determined that the man driving the pickup was under the influence when he hit the woman. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury.
Officers forced the area of Beach and Starr to shut down for a time following the wreck. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The Stanton crash is still under investigation.
