Woman, 68, Killed in Stanton Hit-and-Run at Cerritos Avenue and Dale Street
STANTON, CA (March 5, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash at Cerritos Avenue and Dale Street in Stanton.
According to The Orange County Register and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the collision on March 4 at about 8:45 p.m.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was crossing the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Dale Street in Stanton. For an unknown reason, a small dark green vehicle struck her.
Deputies said the driver hit the victim in the crosswalk. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the 68-year-old woman left lying on the ground.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the wounded patient to a hospital, where she died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area.
Deputies forced the corner of Cerritos and Dale to shut down following the incident. The cause of the fatal Stanton hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
