Arnold Pierce Identified as Victim Killed in Crash
STANTON, California (August 16, 2017) — Arnold Pierce, 64, was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon by a vehicle involved in a traffic collision with another car on Beach Boulevard at Chapman Avenue, the Orange County Register reports.
The collision took place about 2:47 p.m. between an Acura and a Nissan Murano that were both heading southbound on Beach Boulevard.
The Acura allegedly struck the Nissan and then it lost control and went up onto the curb to the sidewalk and struck the Pierce who was in a wheelchair. The vehicle then continued along the sidewalk towards Chapman Avenue where it struck some parked cars.
The man in the wheelchair was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, but he later died of his injuries.
Police questioned all motorists involved in the crash and they are attempting to piece together what happened and will determine liability.
Liability for Collisions
The loss of a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating to a family, but more so when it’s due to a driver’s negligence. Police will seek to find out if alcohol, drugs or traffic violations were factors in the collision that led to this man’s death. A wrongful death lawsuit may be filed by immediate family members in addition to any potential criminal charges.
