Hit-and-run Driver Sought Fresno Fatal Crash
FRESNO, Calif. (January 11, 2021) – Stephanie Clauson, 39, of Fresno, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision Saturday on Highway 99.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department reported they located the woman “lying on the right shoulder in the area of northbound State Route 99, south of Fresno Street.”
The motorist involved fled the scene in a vehicle of unknown make and model.
Sheriff’s officials responded to the crash scene about 1:30 a.m. It’s unknown exactly when the woman was struck by the vehicle or why she was near the roadway. Sadly, she suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, there were no details about the suspect driver or their vehicle available at this time.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the deadly hit-and-run accident on Highway 99.
