Fire department officials along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced Geneau dead at the scene. The accident took place at around 1:09 p.m. near the Cal State University Bakersfield.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that Stephanie Heninger did not stop to render aid to the victim. She turned into the bike path parking area across from CSUB and then fled the area.

Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire wrote that officers later found the Nissan Sentra in Riverside County. They arrested Heninger in the 5400 block of Summer Cypress Drive in Bakersfield on April 30.

Authorities soon booked her into the Kern County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run. The hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
