Stephanie Orantes, Husband and 3 Children Critically Injured in Car Accident
NORTHRIDGE, Los Angeles (October 12, 2017) – A car accident along West Roscoe Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon left a family of five critically injured, according to KTLA.
A GoFundMe page created for the family has identified one of the members as Stephanie Orantes. Stephanie Orantes was traveling with her husband and three sons at the time of the crash. Two of their children reportedly play tackle youth football for the West Valley Eagles.
As per KTLA, Los Angeles police said a silver Tacoma pickup truck and a blue sedan carrying the family collided at about 3:50 p.m. in the 19500 block of West Roscoe Boulevard. At least one of the cars involved struck a fence along the street.
The Orantes couple and their children, whose ages range from 18-months to 10-years-old, were rushed to the hospital and were listed in critical condition. The driver of the pickup was also hospitalized and was in fair condition.

All the patients are expected to survive and some of them were upgraded from critical to serious condition.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that speed or a left turn might have been a factor in the crash. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Motorists in general are obliged to practice road safety precautions and follow traffic laws to avoid auto accidents. In this case, there are several questions that need to be resolved in order to determine the cause of the crash. Was the driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs a factor? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Did any of the drivers involved show recklessness or negligence at some point?
Once the investigation is over and it proves that a negligent party has disregarded the safety of other people on the road, the victims may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit seeking compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical needs, lost income, and pain and suffering.
