Stephen Purcell, 67, Killed in Los Altos Crash at Oak Avenue and Grant Road
LOS ALTOS (March 11, 2019) – A man riding his bicycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle at Oak Avenue and Grant Road Sunday morning.
The victim, a 67-year-old bicyclist identified as Stephen Purcell from Mountain View, was hit by a vehicle while he was crossing the intersection of Oak Avenue and Grant Road.
According to reports by The Mercury News, police were alerted about the crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at about 9:26 in the morning.

The emergency personnel who responded at the scene found the victim unconscious on the ground. Paramedics quickly rushed Purcell to the hospital citing life-threatening injuries.
He was later pronounced dead around 6 in the evening despite many life-saving measures done by health professionals.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the crash site. He did not sustain any injuries from the incident. Police said that the driver cooperated with their investigation.
