A serious injury or the loss of a loved one in a collision is always difficult, but compounding that is the heavy financial toll. There are often medical expenses, lost wages, property damage and in the case of a death, funeral expenses. The injured person or a family may wish to file a claim to recover these expenses. It’s important to note that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed.
