5 Firefighters Hurt in Red Bluff Truck Accident
RED BLUFF, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2018) — Five firefighters were hurt Wednesday afternoon when the truck they were riding in overturned on the Interstate 5 Freeway, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 3:55 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the roadway. The driver of the box truck, Kevin Crone, 32, of Magalia,was driving northbound on the I-5 when he lost control of the truck and it crashed south of Tehama. Cody Mackel, 33, of Paradise, suffered major injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth.
Crone, and passengers, David Jones, 27, of Chico, Dylan Kelley, 20, of Paradise and Steven Brannon, 26, of Chico, were all suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.
The truck belongs to Firestorm Wildland Fire Suppression Inc. of Chico.

Police are piecing together evidence and will determine fault for this crash.
