Motorcyclist Steven Edward Lovett Killed in Crash on Highway 1
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (Sept. 24, 2019) — Steven Edward Lovett, 31, of Watsonville, was killed after a collision with a car Friday night on Highway 1, according to California Highway Patrol.
Lovett was reportedly driving a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Highway 1. Police stated that he was driving at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 1998 Toyota Camry also traveling south, CHP officials said. The crash took place about 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20th.
The motorcycle also struck the center divider of the highway after colliding with the Toyota. Unfortunately, Lovett suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old driver of the Toyota, live resides in Soquel, was not injured, officials said.
The cause of the crash and liability for Mr..Lovett’s death remains under investigation.
