Steven Pingrey Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Cranford Avenue in Riverside

Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Cranford Avenue and W. Linden Street

RIVERSIDE, CA (Sept. 22, 2026) — Steven Pingrey, 59, of Riverside, was the motorcycle rider who died in a hit-and-run crash in Riverside early Saturday at Cranford Avenue and West Linden Street.

The deadly collision occurred at an unknown time before 1:46 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19th, 2026, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner Office.

The Riverside man suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the intersection.

Detectives from the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit are investigating the crash and searching for the suspect. So far, they have determined that Steven Pingrey was riding his motorcycle westbound on Linden Avenue when a driver in another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction veered into his path. The two vehicles collided and the other driver fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.

Witnesses stopped to call 911 and emergency crews responded, but sadly the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Authorities did not release a description of the suspect vehicle, but more details should be released soon.
