Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Stockton Crash at Munford and Mariposa
STOCKTON, CA (April 19, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after an accident at Munford Avenue and Mariposa Road in Stockton.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at about 3:43 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicyclist for a unknown reason. The driver hit the victim at the intersection of East Munford Avenue and Mariposa Road in Stockton.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle Near Highway 99
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near Highway 99. They found the cyclist who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped after colliding with the bicycle rider. They forced the intersection of Munford and Mariposa to shut down following the Stockton crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the collision.
