1 Seriously Injured in Stockton Crash on Interstate 5 at Benjamin Holt Drive
STOCKTON, CA (September 21, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a DUI crash on the Interstate 5 and Benjamin Holt Drive in Stockton.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the accident shortly before 8 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided in the city of Stockton. They crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 at the Benjamin Holt Drive off-ramp.
The incident log described the cars as a black BMW and a white Jeep Cherokee. The BMW obtained major front-end damage while the Jeep came to a rest with major rear-end damage.
DUI Factor in Collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found one person hurt. The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded individual and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, witnesses told CHP that they saw alcohol inside the Jeep and the male driver tried to hide it. Officers shut down on the southbound Interstate 5 at Benjamin Holt for an hour following the wreck.
The Stockton crash is still under investigation.
