1 Killed in Stockton Crash on Interstate 5 Near Benjamin Holt Drive
STOCKTON, CA (January 1, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on the Interstate 5 near Benjamin Holt Drive in Stockton.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place early Saturday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 2:25 a.m.
The incident happened when three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Stockton on New Year’s Day. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of Benjamin Holt Drive.
Multiple Cars Collide
The report described the cars as a silver Chevrolet Silverado, a red SUV and a sedan. The vehicles obtained major front-end damage and major rear-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one occupant died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Stockton crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 near Benjamin Holt to shut down for a time following the wreck.
