Man, 40, Killed in Stockton Hit-and-Run Crash on South San Joaquin Street

STOCKTON, CA (July 27, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on San Joaquin Street in Stockton.

According to an article published by the Central Valley TV, the tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6 p.m.

The incident happened on July 25 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Stockton. Police said the driver hit him near the 400 block of South San Joaquin Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the 40-year-old man left lying on the ground. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

Pedestrian Hit by Minivan

Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and then fled the area. Officials described the vehicle as a late 1990s Toyota minivan, light blue or gray in color.

Officers forced two blocks of South San Joaquin Street to shut down following the accident. The fatal Stockton hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
