Stockton, CA (July 27, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred in the area of Waterloo Road and Filbert Street on July 25, Sunday.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle struck a bicycle rider at the Stockton intersection. Preliminary investigation revealed the motorist swerved for an unknown reason and hit a bicyclist walking inside of a crosswalk.

The CHP dispatch confirmed the driver fled the scene after the collision. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.

Meanwhile, the bicycle rider reportedly sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Responding medical personnel rendered aid to the victim. At this time, the name of the patient and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

Detectives continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the alleged hit-and-run crash in Stockton.
