1 Injured in Stockton Hit-and-Run Crash on Northbound Interstate 5 Near Hammer
STOCKTON, CA (September 23, 2021) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 5 near Hammer Lane in Stockton.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck took place on Thursday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 4:38 p.m.
The incident began a black colored car was driving recklessly on the northbound Interstate 5 in Stockton. The reckless driver then slammed into a black Toyota sedan and a silver colored SUV.
CHP added that all three vehicles crashed, just south of Hammer Lane. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Lincoln Village.
Reckless Driver Hits Cars, Flees Scene
Medical personnel found one person hurt as a result of the collision. They then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the reckless motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
They described the suspect car as either a Mercedes or an Infiniti. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 near Hammer Lane to close following the collision.
The Stockton hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
