Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Stockton Crash on Interstate 5 Near Downing
STOCKTON, CA (July 21, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Stockton.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred late Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:19 p.m.
A witness told CHP that a dark colored sedan struck the motorcyclist for an unknown reason in Stockton. The two crashed on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of Downing Avenue.
The incident log added that the rider fell off the motorcycle upon impact. The bike continued across lanes and then slammed into the median.
Motorcyclist Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist hurt on the right hand shoulder as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car stopped or if they stayed at the site following the wreck. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down after the collision.
The cause of the Stockton crash is still under investigation.
