Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Car Accident on SR-4 in Stockton
STOCKTON, Calif., (July 21, 2026) — A major injury pedestrian accident happened early Tuesday morning on State Route 4 or Highway 4 near South Sinclair Avenue in Stockton.
The collision, which resulted in significant injuries, was reported at approximately 5:20 a.m. on July 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision involved a gray Kia four-door sedan and a pedestrian. The vehicle reportedly struck the pedestrian in the eastbound lane before coming to a stop with its hazard lights on. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, remained at the scene and was reportedly in shock.
Pedestrian Hospitalized with Major Injuries
Emergency responders, including Medic #33 and paramedics Ethan Gallo, Mason Knight, and the crew from Engine #2, arrived swiftly to provide medical assistance. The pedestrian suffered a head injury and was found in the roadway. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The Stockton Fire Department and CHP have been actively involved in managing the scene and gathering pertinent information. Authorities have urged any witnesses to come forward as the investigation into the collision continues.
