Major Injury Pedestrian Accident in Garden Acres Area
STOCKTON, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2022) — A Stockton pedestrian accident happened Tuesday morning on State Route Highway 26 (East Fremont Street) at Avalon Drive in the Garden Acres area.
The major-injury crash occurred about 6:07 a.m. on Sept. 20th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
A driver in a blue Honda Civic reportedly struck the person due to unknown circumstances. It happened in a residential area with no sidewalks or crosswalks. The pedestrian went down in the roadway and the driver stopped to help the person and call 911.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded to the scene to attend to the injured person and transport them to a hospital.
The car was undrivable and towed for evidence.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine liability. Police closed down Highway 26 in both directions for the investigation. Also, the CHP report stated it was dark in the area at the time of the crash.
