6 Severely Injured After Car Crashed Into Escondido Restaurant at Valley and Fig
ESCONDIDO, CA (November 11, 2021) – Several were severely injured after a car crashed into an Escondido Mexican restaurant at Valley Parkway and Fig Street.
According to an article published by the NBC San Diego, the accident took place late Thursday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 10:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a car crashed into the Frida’s Street Tacos restaurant in Escondido. The business is located at corner of the Valley Parkway and Fig Street.
Police determined that the compact SUV was stolen at a parking structure on Seagaze Drive in downtown Oceanside just before 10 p.m. Two men held the victim at knifepoint.
Stolen Car Plows Into Mexican Business
The car ended up inside the restaurant upon impact. Officers found a pickup truck which obtained front-end damage in the intersection.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found at least six people hurt. They sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patients, including a pedestrian and passengers in the pickup truck, to the hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose their names and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, a man, a woman and multiple juveniles riding the stolen car fled on foot following the wreck. Police located and soon detained them.
Officers forced the Mexican restaurant and the area of Valley and Fig to close after the crash. The Escondido car collision is still under investigation.
